Fortigate Offline License Update

Posted on December 13, 2025December 13, 2025 By admin

if you don’t have an official Fortigate account, you still can update your Fortigate device by downloading the database update files manually.

it should be note that Application Categories and Anti-Spam modules cannot update in offline mode.

it’s so easy, just you need to a TFTP server that act as your download server.

after your TFTP ran, put your downloaded files there and go ahead.

open the terminal in the Fortigate Device. if you are in multi-vdom environment so these steps should be done in Global vdom.

before you start, check the current databases version by this command: #diagnose autoupdate versions

enter below commands for upgrade databases:

1-For update ISDB and DLP databases: #execute restore other-object tftp “file-name” “tftp-address”

2-For update Antivirus-AVAI-MobileMalware: #execute restore av tftp “file-name” “tftp-address”

3-For update IPS-Industrial-AppControl-OTDP-OTDB: #execute restore ips tftp “file-name” “tftp-address”

then you can check the databases version again and compare with first result to know which databases updated.

Good luck…
